Today couple of memory joggers remain of the bygone era that saw a West Midland village visited by much talked about stars Steve McQueen , Richard Gere and Great Escape stuntman Bud Ekins. The factory was initially situated in Priory Street, Coventry – in which the first motorcycles folded from the lines in 1902 – however it gone to live in Meriden following the building was destroyed through the Luftwaffe throughout the Coventry Blitz of world war ii.
